36 Days of Type

April 2019 kicked off ShopTalk’s inaugural participation in 36 Days of Type. Aiming to create a space for typography and its endless possibilities, 36 Days of Type is an open call project hosted on Instagram inviting creatives from all over the globe to interpret the 26 letters of the Latin alphabet and ten single digit numerals, in just 36 days.

The ShopTalk team welcomed the challenge by taking turns to create a daily unique letterform to share on our Instagram. Beyond our agreed colour scheme, ShopTalk black and yellow, it was left completely open to interpretation. With the time constraint of having to produce an output a day, it proved to be a great opportunity to push our creative boundaries. The result is a celebration of type in the form of explorations in negative space, animation, illustrated objects and abstract shapes.
